"Jack Routledge Passes"

HAMIOTA - John Lester Routledge entered into rest on February 23rd in Hamiota Hospital in his 78th year. Rev Herb Lynas conducted the funeral service in Hamiota United Church with Hamiota Choir in attendance.

Jack was born on August 19, 1901 in the Lenore district to the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill Routledge. He received his education at Ravine. In 1928 he married Lois Anderson of the Scotia District, and famed in the Ravine area until 1941 when they moved to Oakner, farming until they took up residence in Hamiota in 1960.

He was predeceased by two brothers and in 1975 by his wife Lois.

He is survived by two sons, Jim and Ivan of Oakner, two daughters-in-law Rachel and Mary respectively, eight grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Annie Angus of Brandon, and many nieces and nephews.

The Honary Pallbearers were: John Bradley, Harvey Gray, Doug Routledge, Fred. Anderson, Harold Brown and Bill Allan.

The Active Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased - Gordon Hutchison, Lyle Routledge, Allan Angus, Elgin Routledge, Glen Routledge and Lloyd Anderson.

Ushers were Jim Anderson and Vern Davidson.

Following Interment in the Scotia Cemetery lunch was served by Oakner U.C.W. in Chumah Hall.

Campbell's Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations were made to the Hamiota Health Centre.
