Anderson,
James Sr. "Our readers will regret to hear of the death of Mr. James Anderson, senior, which occured suddenly on his farm at Scotia yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon. Accompanied by Mrs. Anderson, he had gone to water the cattle and after breaking ice he fell back and died. Naturally it was a great shock to his wife and family, with whom the sympathy of the whole community is extended, as Mr. Anderson was a much respected old timer of the Scotia settlement, he had been in the district for the past 38 years. He was born in Scotland and came to Canada in 1867 and farmed in Ontario until he came west in 1882. He had just passed the allotted span being 70 years of age on the 6th of September last, and leaves besides his wife, five sons: James, Joseph, Oliver, Colin and Clare, and also two daughters: Myrtle (at home) and Mabel (Mrs. Tennant) at Arrow River. The funeral will take place from his late residence, Scotia on Friday (to-morrow) at one o'clock. Service at the house to commence at one o'clock and thense to Scotia Cemetery for interment." |
