These biographical
sketches are usually very detailed and glowing of the biographee. The details
include where they farm or were employed; birth date and place; parents and if the parents
are still living; who they married; children and often names the children's spouses as
well. Most interestingly for someone trying to understand their ancestor, the
biography usually states the political party affiliation. It also includes at which
church they worshiped and if the were members of fraternal organizations.
These biographies
are a wonderful find if these are one of your relatives. The book has an index but
biographies are not grouped by locale. The numbers in parentheses refer to the page
number.
